2. Once the vehicle is brought to our premises, membership will be valid only after three (3) days. If the vehicle was not brought to our premises, the application will commence after seven (7) days of signing the application. If the vehicle is over ten (10) years old, it must be inspected at our workshop.

3. If the member has not renewed the membership before fifteen (15) days from expiry, MET will instruct to inspect your vehicle, to continue your subscription.

4. If the member has not renewed the membership and within fifteen (15) days the vehicle needs assistance, MET can assist you only against payment of €15 and the renewal standard fee on the spot of breakdown. If the renewal has elapsed by fifteen (15) days from the expiry date of the membership, the member shall have to pay a fee imposed by MET receptionist.

B. General Terms & Conditions

1. Your vehicle must be maintained in a road worthy condition and in good running order at all times. The membership is not valid, if the vehicle is not roadworthy at the time of the inception date of the membership.

2. The service is limited to Malta and Gozo only. Special conditions apply where the ferry service is used between Malta and Gozo. ( refer to note section H )

3. The roadside assistance service will be provided to you only when your vehicle is disabled due to a mechanical, electrical failure, or due to an accident.

4. The service is limited to make your disabled vehicle operable on the road where possible or upon failure to achieve this, to tow it directly to an address of your choice. ( refer to section G no. 1)

5. For the protection of your vehicle, services will be rendered only in your presence. After requesting assistance, you are to remain with your vehicle until the MET recovery vehicle arrives on site. Alternatively you may agree with the MET receptionist to meet the MET vehicle at a mutually agreed point. If the vehicle is unattended or member leaves without informing MET, the member will be charged €15 on the next call for assistance.

6. MET will refuse to send any assistance or carry out any services if the vehicle is unattended. A person must be present while vehicle is being towed unless a valid reason is given. Thus the towing can be done at your own risk. MET driver will tow back the vehicle to client's residence or at a destination decided by the owner at an extra charge of €25, if the garage or any repairer recommended by the owner refuses the vehicle or is closed.

7. If for any reason you cannot provide evidence of a valid membership, even when our driver arrives on the spot, MET reserve the right to request payment for the service prior being provided. A receipt will be issued and this payment will be reimbursed only within a week and after due verification of entitlement to the service has been established and the fiscal receipt is returned.
